Blood Sport (Poetry In Motion) Signed Larry Hagman Script & Contracts
"Blood Sport" (1973) (aka 'Poetry In Motion), is considered to be one of the best Made for TV movies ever produced. It is credited with breaking the ground in TV screen language, violence and subject matter, and as being an astonishingly emotionally charged movie that still moves and shocks audience to this day. It is also always on the top ten lists as best MOW's ever made. It is the story of a promising young football player (Gary Busey), who is torn between his father's wants, (Academy Award Winning Ben Johnson), and his coaches' needs (Larry Hagman). This is Hagman's dog-eared actual on-set personal script that he used during production, with all his own notes, deletions, additions, etc. The front is signed by Hagman, as well as signed by Ben Johnson, and Pro Football Hall of Famer George Allen who was a technical advisor on the film. It also includes cast and crew notes from the production company as well as the memo from the William Morris Agency confirming and detailing Hagman's deal on the project. It is all contained in an envelope from Hagman's office with Hagman's own handwriting. Hagman always talked about how he considered this to be one of his "crowning achievements", which is why he saved the script over the years. This extremely rare piece of TV and Hagman history comes from his Estate.
