This is a Blackfoot Native American Indian Parfleche knife sheath and 19th Century early trade knife. The sheath is all Parfleche and sinew rawhide sewn construction with red mineral painted design. The knife shows an early Deer Antler Horn handle with file worked iron blade and is from the 19th century. These pieces are in good condition for their age, showing some wear. The knife measures 11" L x 1 3/4" W, the sheath measures 9 3/4" L x 3 1/2" H x 1 1/4" W. Age of the scabbard is unknown.
