Featured in this lot for your consideration is a Blackfoot Native American Indian polychrome painted parfleche headdress case, and headdress, including a pine display stand. The case shows a parfleche construction, tied into a cylinder with tanned leather hide ties. The case is additionally adorned with horse hair drops. The case is set off by a geometrical paint job, showing vibrant red, yellow, and deep black colors. The headdress has twelve tall feathers, tightly attached to a red trade cloth band with an interior parfleche support. The headdress also shows multiple ermine tail, and beaded drops. The headdress displays multiple types of accoutrements, including; brass tacks, brass beads, sand cast trade beads, dew claws, and a central Mother of Pearl button. This is a modern museum quality set, and originates from a prominent Native American Indian Collector - Ken "Walks in Winter", associated with the Rising Wolf Traders, from the Blackfoot Native American Indian Reservation. The case measures 24" tall, and approximately 4 1/2" across.
