Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Zuni sterling silver swivel pendant has a kachina dancer on one side and a mudhead dancer on the other. The dancers are done In a mosaic inlay with mother-of-pearl, coral, turquoise, jet and/or Onyx. Oval pendant without bail measures 44.25 mm x 34.4 mm, pendant weighs approximately 24 g. Piece is signed Bev Etsate Zuni. NOTE: piece is not stamped with sterling mark, but has been tested and is silver
