Best quality European double-rifle by Peter Hofer of Ferlach, Austria, .470 Nitro Express caliber, full sidelock action, high-art engraved, deluxe burl-wood stocked with finest attention to detail and qualitythroughout in leather-over-wood deluxe case with matching burled-wood tool set, maker’s label in lid, serial #320. The rifle shows 25-1/4” barrels, raised half-rib with three-leaf folding rear sight, graduated at50, 75, and 100yds. Gold-border line work with fancy signature in gold on barrels and gold lines around front sight. The frame and sideplates are beautifully fine-line engraved in African game scenes with relief cutpanels at center of each sideplate. The engraving is of the finest European quality imaginable with intricate vignettes of African game, all contained within the French-grey finished action, receiver, andsmall parts.
