Beautiful authentic Northern Plains Indian pewter inlaid catlinite pipe with carved and filed wood stem, off center smoking hole drilled in stem, appears circa 1880s-1890s in overall good condition; pipe is in classic“L” shape with dimensions of 4” from top of bowl to bottom of base, 6” from front of pipe to rear where stem attaches and a 1-1/2” diameter to the pipe; great patina and some slight scratching; stem also shows a darkpatina; from an old estate and per consignor, may have been obtained in the late 1940’s from the Los Angeles Southwest Museum; a really nice piece!
