Beautiful and fancy Gustav Young engraved Colt Model 1851 percussion revolver, .36 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue finish, fantastic raised carved ivory grips, #93226; formerly in the famous Harold’s Clubcollection, tag #127. This gun is in overall fine condition showing an old dipped blue finish with crisp markings, sharp edges, all matching visible serial numbers, just a slight amount of polishing; traces ofcylinder scene remaining; all matching visible serial numbers; hand engraved “Colt’s Patent” on left side of frame, Hartford barrel address; action is crisp, bore is good, all cylinder pins remaining on back ofcylinder; period replacement wedge, traces of original silver remain on the trigger guard and backstrap; grips are spectacular with a finely raised carved American Eagle standing proudly on a “Liberty” marked scroll on theleft side that shows wear and a great patina; right side of the grip shows an old quality repair. These grips are attributed to a Philadelphia carver of the correct period and a pair of presentation 1861 Navies belonging
