Batman (1989) -Creating Michael Keaton’s iconic silhouette required extensive testing by costume designer Bob Ringwood and the creature/costume FX crew, particularly in solving how the sweeping black cape would seamlessly attach to the base of the cowl without restricting movement or breaking line on camera.

This lot features original production-acquired heavy black cape fabric paired with black cut out velcro piece almost in the shape of the logo, used by the costume department during early pre-production trials. These materials were part of the practical rigging tests conducted to determine weight, drape, fabric flow, and the quick-release cowl attachment mechanism for the logo used throughout filming.
