Ball & Williams Takedown single shot rifle, .45 caliber, Serial #8079. The rifle is in overall good condition with a 28 ½” octagon to round barrel. The barrel retains a significant amount of its thinning blued finish with sharp edges onthe octagon portion. The action has gone to a mottled grey patina with some blue in the protected areas. The smooth wood stocks are in very good condition with a half stock fore end, showing small mars and dents from use and acrescent metal butt plate. The rifle is built on an early pre-Marlin Ballard action and purported to be of limited production with the half stock fore end. The bore is good, action crisp and markings legible on this rifle.
