WWII era British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured circa 1944. Imported by IAC of Alexandria, VA with import marks on the receiver and butt socket. Features a black painted finish, 25.2" barrel with integral bayonet lugs, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted folding aperture sight graduated to 1,300 yards, two barrel bands, smooth trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, sling swivels, hollowed bolt knob, integral charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, smooth full-length wood handguard & forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver, bolt handle, magazine and forend. The left side of butt socket is marked “M/47C/1944/J7771”, “F.T.R.” and with the importer information. The left side of the receiver shows faint markings but are illegible. Rifle retains approximately 85% of its black painted finish showing edge wear and scattered losses. Action is smooth, the bore is excellent and the wood stocks are fine. Condition is NRA Very Good+. ***C&R Firearm***
