Authentic Winchester Model 1876 Indian-tacked lever action SRC with period replaced 23” octagon rifle barrel, .45-75 cal., blue finish, wood stocks, #44363. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showingclassic wear and old brass tacking, some missing with just the pins remaining; brown patina mixed with some muted plum finish, good markings and bore, action is crisp, dustcover removed; stocks are worn with oldmars, scratches and some losses; old repair to the wrist; accompanied by a factory letter indicating this carbine was shipped from the Winchester warehouse on April 8, 1885 to the North West Mounted Police; also included are additional research records on the NWMP-shipped Model 1876s including the summary by Cody Firearms Museum Research Volunteer John M. Hawk, which further verifies this serial number among thoseshipped to the Mounties. A great looking gun that likely would have a great story if it could talk! Est.: $4,000-$6,000.
