Authentic Sharps Model 1874 Indian-tacked single shot rifle, .45 cal., 2-1/10” case, 30” octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, #159774. This gun is in overall well-worn, uncleaned conditionshowing traces of muted blue finish on the barrel among the brown patina with case hardened receiver gone to a silvery tone and mixed brown patina; rifling is still strong, double set triggers working at time ofdescription; wood stocks are weathered and show old losses, wear, dings and mars with classic small old brass tack decoration on the back end of the fore stock and the end of the butt stock where the iron butt plate had been long ago removed (often taken off by Indians for use as a hide scrapper); thick old brass blade in front sight; from an old Santa Fe, New Mexico collection; accompanied by a factory letter indicating the gun wasinvoiced at the Bridgeport factory on June 7, 1878 to Schuyler, Hartley and Graham of New York City in .45 cal., 30” octagon barrel, double triggers, open sights and oil-finished stocks; weight listed as 9-3/4 pounds;
