Australian Issue Webley Mark VI Double Action Revolver, #304885, .45 ACP cal., 6" flat-sided barrel, blued finish, black plastic checkered grips, blade front sight and fixed "U"-notched rear sight. Lanyard ring attached to bottom of grip frame. Marked on left-side frame "WEBLEY/MARK VI/PATENTS/1917". Left side of barrel strap stamped with "'17" in service mark/firing proof/Broad Arrow/view marks/MARK VI". Left-side barrel and frame are each stamped with "Broad Arrow D" Australian Government ownership marks and sold out of service stamps. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, and cylinder. Revolver has been importer converted to .45 ACP caliber by "shaving" the rear of the cylinder. Condition overall is good with the refinished metal retaining over 90% bluing, which was applied over old pitting. Bottom of the left grip has a chip missing, otherwise both are good, showing handling marks and areas of flattening to the checkering. Action locks, cycles, and ejects smoothly; bore is fair with darkening in the grooves and worn rifling; chambers have darkening that may clean better, otherwise very good. No visible import marks.
