Attractive DERINGE Marked Percussion Pocket Pistol

Estimate: $1500 - 2750
A high quality copy of the Henry Deringer pocket pistol, the "DERINGE" marking is close enough to trick an inattentive observer into thinking it was a legitimate Deringer, without infringing copyright, much like the "made for SMITH & WESSON cartridge" revolvers of the same era or "Panasonic" telephone of the modern day. Brass blade front and notch rear sights, with scroll engraving on the tang, screw and left breech flat, "DERINGE" on top, and further scrollwork on the lock and hammer. The barrel is finished brown, with a short lower rib and a hardwood ramrod. Checkered bird's head stock, with German silver furniture, silver escutcheons, scroll and border engraving, and a blank inscription shield.
