Manufactured from 1860 to 1868 with this cased example having a blue finish with silver plated frame and fitted with ivory grips. The barrel lug and cylinder are stamped "E8". The barrel rib has the standard address marking and the cylinder has the standard patent dates marking. The partitioned English burled walnut case is lined with blue felt and the top of the lid has a blank silver shield and banner. The case holds the revolver, an oiler, screwdriver and 55 cartridges (22RF).

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 50% thining original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some mild pitting on the cylinder. The frame retains 97% plus original silver plating which has an attractive aged appearance. The shrunken grips are very good with a small chip missing, some minor handling marks and a few hairline cracks. The ivory has an attractive grain pattern and color. Action functions but cylinder does not lock. The case is very fine with some high spot wear on the lining and some minor handling marks.
