Associated pair of .41 caliber rimfire Southerner Derringers. One by Merrimack Manufacturing Co, serial #3604, one by Brown Manufacturing Co. serial #3606. Cased in a French-style fitted case with rosewoodexterior. The pair remain in like condition and show 80-90% original blue finish, evenly thinning and toning. Good sharp brass frames, slight traces of silver. Considerable case hardening on both hammers, at least 75%.Small parts and screws show bright blue, good sharp edges and markings, grips good to very good with some slight edge wear. The case shows a red baize or felt interior, with green piping lined in the French style, and a later agent or dealer-added case. A partial box of Eley cartridges marked “Made for Derringer and other pistols” is included. The interior of the case shows some impressions, oil staining, and some age. The exterior ofthe case is veneered rosewood, and show cracking and slight warpage, but is generally very good. A well-matching and good looking pair of nicely cased Derringers. Est: $2,250 - $4,500.
