Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Zuni sterling silver earrings with kachina dancer done in mosaic style inlay. Inlay is designed out of jet and/or Onyx, coral, turquoise and mother-of-pearl. Earrings measure 21.5 mm wide by 28.1 mm long without bail. Earrings have a lever closure, they weigh approximately 5 g each for a total weight of 10 g. Stamped on the back ARP (hallmark for Arlinda Rose Pinto) and Zuni NM. NOTE: piece is not stamped with sterling mark, but has been tested and is silver
