This lot includes a Native American Indian 1/2 groove axe head. The axe head is crafted of semi-polished hard stone, and shows two prominent grooves on each narrow side of the stone. The axe head originates from around the late archaic period to the early woodland period, between 3000 BC - 800 AD, from the American Midwest. The axe head shows a nice tip, with wear from evident usage. Overall, the piece is in good condition. The axe head measures 4 7/8" long, 3 3/8" wide, and 1 3/4" thick.
