Apache Beaded Strike-A-Lite Possible Bag c. 1900-
The lot features a finely beaded strike-a-lite possible bag from the Apache Native American Indians and dating to circa 1900-1920’s. The bag shows an Indian tanned Buffalo Bison hide with all glass trade seed beadwork in a traditional pattern. The beadwork is all period correct and shows a geometric pattern in red white hearts, chalk white, corn “custard” yellow and cobalt. The bag shows the original top belt tie hide strips and hand cut hide fringe at the base with rolled tin jingle cones. The top flap of the bag shows a fancy beaded edge and the entire bag is in very good condition with little to no bead loss. The back of the bag shows a nice medium patina on the hide which is slightly hardened, but overall the entire bag has a nice supple finish. The bag measures overall 14”L overall by 3 7/8”W.
