Featured in this lot we have a Antonius Stradivarius model 1736 copy violin and carry case originating from the early 1900's. Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737) was an Italian luthier known for his masterful Violins. He is believed to have produced around 1,116 instruments with 960 of those being violins. Currently around 650 of his works survive with around 450-500 violins accounted for. The violins have been copied and reproduced over the centuries with models used in orchestras and philharmonic violinists across the world. The piece displays wonderful wood construction. The finger board and tailpiece show a black dyed color with the tailpiece showing a mother of pearl inlayed flower design. The piece comes with a chin rest with a carved floral design with a instrument at the center. The back of the chin rest is marked "German Manufacture". The interior of the violins shows a tag reading "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1736" with a "A S" seal on the side. The case displays a faded purple felt interior with brass bow holder and nickel'd steel hardware. The piece shows fair condition overall with some wear and need some repair and to be re-strung. The violin measures 23 1/2" long by 6 1/2" wide with the case measuring 31" long by 9 1/2" at the widest.
