Antique large hunting knife approx. 17-1/2” overall with an approx. 12-1/2” blade with stag grip and accompanied by a checkered leather over wood sheath. This very interesting piece is in overall fair +condition showing some scattered areas of erosion and light pitting with in our opinion, original etching on the left side of the blade “From H.R.J. Prince Leopold to Angus Fraser in recognition 1897”; there aresome nicks to the edge of the blade with signs of old sharpening; the iron guard is simple in construction as is the iron pommel and the round stag grip shows even wear and a nice patina; the sheath is well worn withsome loses to the leather particularly at the tip; stitching is mostly present and the inner wood liner remains mostly intact; should be further researched. Est.: $400-$800.
