Antique clip point bowie knife with sheath by E. Barnes & Son, approx. 12-3/4” overall with an 8-1/4” blade marked “E. Barnes & Son, 226 Solly St., Sheffield” and considerable markings on the blade including a spread eagle , “O.K” in an oval; an outline around “E. Pluribus Unum”; a winding ribbon with “The Western . . . . .(unreadable)”; with a horseman and pairs of hunting dogs chasing a deer with the lead dog stating “Go Ahead” and the deer indicating “I’m Off”. The knife is in overall good condition with scattered spots of erosion and blood pitting; the horn scales are fair to good with 3 pins on each side and a pierced plaque on the left side with the initials “LLD” inscribed; the right front lower corner of that scale shows a crack and the scales are not exact fits to this knife’s brass grip profile. The sheath is overall good with some old staining and gold accents, metal tip and throat are present. Ex-George Taylor collection. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
