Antique Winchester Model 1873 Second Model Lever Action Rifle, #91121, .38-40 cal., 24'' octagon barrel, 2/3 magazine tube, straight grip walnut stock, crescent steel trapdoor buttplate, dovetailed front sight with silver blade, sporting elevator rear sight, with Lyman tang peep sight; sight is marked ''Pat. Jan. 29/79''. With standard two-line ''King's Improvement'' address. Mfg'd 1882. Condition is good with less than 15% remaining blue finish in protected areas including the inside edges of the sideplate, forend line, trigger, etc., the balance a combination silvery gray and darkened patina. Receiver with some very minor surface peppering. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle and has been sanded with an added coat of varnish. Wrist with an approx. 1'' long fine hairline crack emanating from the upper tang. Barrel address is visible. Action is very good; bore rates good for its age with general mild erosion.
