American swivel breech Kentucky style rifle with German silver inlays and barrels signed "B.W." on each rear portion in fancy script letters surrounded by squiggle engraving. The rifle measures 48" overall with 33"barrels of approx. 45 caliber both rifled. The stock shows a large German silver plaque type engraved inlay on the ramrod side and four plaque inlays on the reverse. The top of the tang shows a large horse shoe typeGerman silver type inlay. The barrel release lever which was affixed to the trigger guard is missing. The stock is in good condition other than some cracks and a large chip of wood missing where the lock meets the stockextending for approx 2-3/4" by ½" at widest part. The stock shows considerable original varnish and some wear at the edges and remnants of a false stripping. There are some small losses of wood around the lockplate, but generally good. The side plate is simply engraved with a silver colored inlay between the scrolls. Est.;$3,500-$7,000.
