American percussion dueling/target pistol signed R. Marston, 211 Fulton St, New York. .45 caliber smoothbore, 9-1/2” heavy octagon barrel, 16” overall, measuring 15/16” across barrel flats. The pistol is half stocked in nicely grained walnut checkered at the grip, the lock is lightly engraved and in good quality scrolls. The pistol shows a set trigger and engraved and case hardened iron triggerguard and iron buttcap. The pistol is double gold banded at the breech and shows quality throughout. The metal surfaces are very crisp and the barrel shows traces of original brown. The lock, tang, triggerguard, and buttplate show 30-50% case hardening drifting to a silvery grey. The varnish wood stocks are very good plus with crisp checkering. The action is good, the markings are sharp. An attractive pistol by a well known New York maker. From the William R. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
