For your consideration is this circa 1930's (Anaconda) American Brass Company's advertising metal calendar holder. According to Wikipedia The American Brass Company was formed in 1893 and incorporated in 1899. By 1917 the company had 70 mills employing 16,000 workers. During WWI, American Brass produced over 1 billion tons of material. In 1922, the Anaconda Copper Mining Company of Montana acquired American Brass resulting in one of the largest American business mergers up to that time. Anaconda Copper Company owned American Brass from 1922-1977. The calendar holder advertising piece shows tin or aluminum construction backed by a thick paperboard. The piece has black and brown fields with brass/ gilt lettering and decoration. A yearly calendar would have been inserted over the black field which contains three paragraphs about the company as well as office and agency locations. The calendar space is surrounded left and right by gilt Corinthian columns over a brown field. Across the top, "Anaconda/ from mine to consumer" is inscribed over the top of the Anaconda copper arrowhead logo. Across the bottom, "The American Brass Company/ Copper and Brass Products/ Waterbury, Conn., U.S.A." is inscribed.
