Allin conversion of a U.S. Springfield rifle, .50 cal., 36-1/2” barrel, bright and case hardened finish, lock plate dated 1863, iron cleaning rod, two sling swivels with tan woven sling, wood stock, #NVSN. This gun isin overall good condition, uncleaned and showing considerable bright finish on the barrel with scattered areas of erosion and surface crud, good bore, crisp action, trapdoor dated 1866 with eagle head proof,traces of case color on lock plate and hammer, wood is overall good with scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage, three visible inspector cartouches on the left wrist area above the trigger, correct buttplate marked “US”. This one should improve with a careful cleaning and oiling as it has that untouched, out-of-the-attic condition. Est.: $400-$800.
