.44-40 SN: 1654 High quality reproduction of the iconic 1860 Henry lever action repeating rifle, chambered in .44-40 Winchester and likely produced in Italy. Features an approx 22" octagonal barrel, tube magazine, crescent buttplate, lever locking latch, blade front sight, ladder type rear sight that flips down to provide an open "V" notch. Bore is excellent. Barrel, magazine, and finger lever have 85% coverage of a splotchy brown finish, with bare metal showing on sharp edges. Brass receiver and small parts are very good with many small dents and some discoloration. Receiver side plates are slightly "sprung", may reassemble to flush after cleaning. Wood is very good condition with scattered light scratches. Overall appearance is of an older firearm with light discoloration from firing black powder cartridges. Only observed markings are serial number and two lines on barrel top: "HENRYS PATENT, OCT16,1860" "MANUFACT'D BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO, NEW HAVEN, CT'. Condition is NRA Very Good ***Modern Firearm***
