The lot features an African Tribal belt from the Coastal people and dating to circa 1930’s. The belt shows a glass trade bead on a thick carpet thread with fringe which shows glass trade beads and shells. The ends of the belt show larger red and black trade beads which act as ties. The piece displays very well and is in well preserved condition. Provenance: From the private family collection of Sarah Alling of Helena, Montana. The family collection of Sarah Alling, a 5th Generation Montanan, began in the 19th Century and has grown since. Along with being an avid collector herself, Sarah co-founded with Bruce VanLandingham Sundog Fine Art of Bozeman, Montana which was both part museum and gallery. Measures overall 29”L by 4.25”W.
