Cal. 20 ga. 2 3/4". S# 140677. Beautiful Premier upgrade of a field grade ejector gun with Hunter 1 single selective trigger. By former FN Master Engraver Angelo Bee. Colored featherweight sidelock action has full coverage scroll engraving with floral accents surrounding oval scenes. Right sideplate scene features a gold inlay of a pointer. Left side has a gold setter with a gold quail on the trigger plate. Bolsters feature gold & brass grape vines. Complementing engraving extends to the long tang trigger guard as well as the breech & muzzle ends of the bbls. Even the inside & outside of the forend iron have matching engraving colored finish. The engraved rib extension has added marking "L.C. SMITH PREMIER GRADE" followed by a gold bar. The 28" bbls. have added markings. "SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" on right bbl. Left bbl. has added marking "MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON, N. Y." White target front sight with white mid bead. Original "London Steel" marking are partially visible on the bottom of both bbls. Bore diameter: RT .615, LT .613. Choke constriction: RT .022, LT .018. Minimum wall thickness: RT .040, LT .039. The splinter forend and straight stock are custom crafted of exhibition grade walnut having tight fiddle figure with contrasting red & brown tones. Forend & wrist have fine hand checkering in an ornate borderless segmented pattern. LOP: 14 1/2" over a solid orange Old English pad. DAC; 1 1/2". DAH: 2". Neutral cast. Weight; 6 lbs., 12 oz. According to the "L.C. Smith Production Records" by James Stubbendieck as few 5 original Premier grade 20 ga. guns were produced between 1919 & 1940. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Angelo Bee Certificate of Authenticity for L. C. Smith S# 140677. The gun is housed in a leather covered luggage case with burgundy fitted interior. CONDITION: Very fine as refurbished. Action retains over 85% custom colored finish with some fading around the edges. Over 98% bbl. blue with small scratches & marks on rib. Left bbl. has evidence of a raised dent 7 1/8" from muzzle. Bores show general pitting. Stock have very good custom finish with small spots of wear. (23-1617/DS). MODERN. $10,000-15,000.
