A short, heavy Chinese sword with a steel knuckle guard and carved wooden handle. Often you see swords like this in a pair but they always have a flat side so they can be carried together. This sword has a symmetrical handle. This could be ashield knife or pai dao. Mid-late 19th century. Worn condition, rust pitting throughout. Measures approx. 18”. Est.: $150-$250.
