A rare Qing dynasty Imperial Guard quiver and archer’s belt. Brown velvet quiver with applied gilt bronze mounts attached to a blue archers belt with matching gilt bronze mounts. Quiver has three extra pockets on back to hold extra orspecialized arrows. The lower gilt boss is surrounded by five bats represent longevity and the five blessings. The gilt bronze vase near the top has three pole arms coming out. This is a rebus for “rise three ranks in the imperialexaminations”. Early to mid 19th century. Good condition, minimal wear and toning to velvet, much of gold gilt worn from fittings. Tassel on end of belt missing. Belt measures 67” long. Quiver measures 12 ½” tall and 7” wide.
