, double woven, featuring unusual colouration, red, blue, lime, on a grey ground, floral motifs, 96"x80", maker: "M. Ruhl", dated 1846, also initials woven in are "W. B." and "OSCY"(?), fringed, found in Pennsylvania. Condition: shows some wear, especially at the fringe. Note: J.M. Jacquard, French, 1752-1834, inventor of the loom with endless belt of cords punched with holed, arranged to produce a figured weave, adapted by American weavers early/mid 19th. C. (Webster's)
