A Huari carved bone amulet from Peru, c. AD 650 - 800, in the form of a shaman or deity, wearing elaborate costume, hands at sides of belly. The face is well detailed with large staring eyes and tall ridged headdress, with suspension hole. H: 2 ½ in (6.4 cm). Intact with excellent style and detail, mineral deposits and light weathering throughout. Ex Hasso von Winning collection; Ex J. L. Malter collection.
