Manufactured from 1914 to 1945. Double ivory bead sights on the matte solid rib. 2 1/2 inch chambers, choked modified/improved modified, with ejectors. The top rear right barrel is marked "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" and "MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A." on the left. The breech end of the barrels is engraved with a 2 inch wedge of vine leaf engraving. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel flats and water table as well as the letter "X". The action, trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware are engraved with the same vine leaf engraving. The left side of the action also has an oval panel with two quail in a field scene and two ducks in a marsh scene on the right side. Above each panel is engraved "ANSLEY H. FOX". The bottom of the action has a fox in a mountain field scene. The serial number is engraved on the lower tang. Blue barrels with casehardened remaining parts, single trigger with selector mounted next to it, tang mounted automatic safety and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm with ebony forend insert and round knob pistol grip stock with a Pachmayr White Line vented recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Condition: Very fine. The barrels retain 97% original blue finish with some thinning giving way to a plum. The action retains 60% original case colors, mainly on the tangs and protected areas with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The break lever retains 80% original case colors and the trigger guard retains 20% original case colors. The forearm hardware has a smooth gray patina. The wood is also very fine with a few overall scattered minor dings and handling marks, with crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
