(Disneyland, 1960s) An extremely rare prop from the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland. The artwork is a reproduction of a Native American horseback battle scene by John Young Hunter from around the 1920s. In the earliest days of the attraction, the interior walls were decorated with artwork of Frontier-inspired scenes. The printed artwork was adorned with a "frame" to resemble hanging paintings; however, the "frame" was just an illusion. Remarkably, the artwork was actually adhered directly to the wall of the Golden Horseshoe, so it could not be removed or adjusted by Park guests. During a more recent refurbishment of the Golden Horseshoe, this artwork was removed by actually cutting it out from a portion of the attraction's drywall. Therefore, this artwork was not only displayed within the Golden Horseshoe, but it is also a literal piece of the Golden Horseshoe's show building itself! This stunning artifact measures an impressive 28.5" x 40.5" and has been beautifully presented in a 36" x 54" frame. It is in good condition with some surface and edge wear from prolonged use within the attraction. The frame is in very good condition with minor wear.
