Offered in this lot for your consideration is a mid-1900's Oscar Edmund Berninghaus lithograph print, titled "A Fight for Overland Mail" and commissioned by Anheuser-Busch, as a piece of breweriana to distribute to vendors and bars. The scene depicts a Western Stage Coach loaded with crates of Anheuser Busch Beer, being attacked by four mounted Native American Indians, with two armed guards shooting back. The scene is a typically romanticized view of the American West, as employed by the company to promote its products. The print is in good condition, with good color, and little browning or contamination of the piece - the paper backing on the frame is deteriorating, but does not effect the piece. The frame the piece is mounted in measures 40 1/4" wide, 26 3/4" tall, and 1 1/2" deep.
