A Ceremic jar made by famous contemporary artist-Sharon Reay
Sharon Reay has been working in clay, really since her youth, but professionally since the late 1970's. She creates whimsical pieces which reflect her love of children's book illustrations. Her unique style of sculptural/functional work is hand crafted in high fired stoneware, using a combination of hand-building techniques, and wheel thrown or extruded forms. Many of the pieces are fired in either wood or soda, using the kilns at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Sharon has maintained her studio, despite working at Shadolt Centre for the Arts as the Ceremic Arts Porgrammer. She will be the featured 'Artist in Residence' this summer at the Shadbolt Centre, working at the Steam Plant building in Deer Lake Park.Condition as is, shown in photos.
