Featured in this lot we have a framed Charles M. Russell print titled "A Bad One". Charles Marion Russell (March 19, 1864 – October 24, 1926),also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an artist of the Old American West. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States and in Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. Known as 'the cowboy artist', Russell was also a storyteller and author. This print depicts a cowboy as he is seated on the back of a bucking horse as five other mounted cowboys watch. The first figure is shown looking startled with one hand on the reigns and the other on a riding crop with his hat flying in the air. The background shows a herd of cattle with a pair of wagons next to a small river. The piece is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading "C M Russell 1926". The piece is set into a sloped wooden frame and shows a tag on the back reading "A Bad One Charles Marion Russell Courtesy Thomas Gilcrease Institute, Tulsa, Oklahoma". The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 16" wide by 12" tall with the print measuring 12 3/4" wide by 8 3/4" tall.
