.50-70 Allin Conversion of Civil War musket to .50-70 centerfire caliber. Standard as-issued, arsenal bright finish, Springfield proof on breech, faint trace of outline of cartouche on outside of stock. There is an“L” inspection at the breech and just behind the triggerguard. The metal surfaces show their original arsenal bright with traces of case hardening on the lock, good sharp eagle and Springfield markings. The stock showssome starches and mars, oiling with linseed oil, minor dings and mars, slight losses along cleaning rod channel, but generally very good overall. The bore is near excellent.
