1-1940, 1-1942, 1-1944, 1-1947 & 1-1951 1 Cent - George VI Country:Canada - Coin Mint Years:1937-1947 - Metal:Bronze - Weight:3.24g - Diameter:19.05mm - Thickness:1.65mm - Design Obverse:The portrait in left profile of George VI is surrounded with the inscription "GEORGIVS VI D:G:REX ET IND:IMP:" meaning: George V, by the grace of God, the King and Emperor of India Lettering: GEORGIVS VI D:G:REX ET IND:IMP: - Reverse:A maple leaf twig is surrounded with the facial value and the inscription "CANADA". This alloy was only used for the coins minted between 1937 and 1941 (from Monnaies du Canada 2008). Following years are listed on KM#32. NOTE: 1947 exists with different variants: the "7" can be pointed or blunt at the top right end.
