1929 FORD MODEL A CUSTOM CABRIOLET HOT ROD
1929 MODEL A CUSTOM, 350 AUTOMATIC. REMOVABLE CABRIOLET ROOF. VERY NICE BUILD USING BOYD CODDINGTON'S DESIGN. ALL STEEL BODY. 1700 MILES.
This 1929 custom Ford Street Rod is an absolute show stopper. This all-steel rod began life as an original 1929 Henry Ford 2 door sedan. Over 30 pictures document the countless body modifications which was started by cutting off the original roof and reinforcing the body. The door was lengthened by 4" to allow easier entry and help the body proportions. The cowl was widened by 3/4" while removing many of the stock body seams. The windshield posts were narrowed and laid back and a flash windshield was added to help create the sleek look. Bobbed rear fenders and a custom made roll pan along with flush-mounted taillights make the view from behind as distinguished as the profile. The top edge of the body was capped all the way around then blends terrifically into a '32 Ford steel dash. The lift-off hardtop is completed with a hand made metal frame and covered in aluminum. The top is covered in Hartz cloth and has a sculpted headliner on the underside. The simple yet tasteful interior features custom covered tan seats and molded door panels. A small back seat with seat belts make this a great family cruiser. A smooth painted column with billet steering wheel, Lokar shifter and TPT gauges complete his comfortable interior. The frame rails are originals that have been boxed and a new X-style cross member was added. A Chassis Engineering chrome dropped front axle with GM disc brakes complete the front end. The rear is an 8" Ford rear end connected by a 4-bar set up with chrome coilovers. The rod is motivated by a rebuilt 350cid Chevy bored .030 over and a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. This completely pro-built car has many more features too numerous to mention. Just the custom metal work to the body would make this car extremely expensive to duplicate. This is not your cookie cutter glass Street Rod, this is an all-steel custom built show style Street Rod that can be driven on a regular basis.
