PROTOTYPE KNIVES. Per letter by Joe Houser of Buck Knives Inc & Richard Neyman author of "M9 BAYONET THE AUTHORIZED HISTORY", "these 3 knives were made by the Buuck Knives factory of Post Falls, Idaho for the long tang riveted version of the 1993 USMC Marine prototype". These 3 knives are on pages 184 & 185 of "M9 BAYONET THE AUTHORIZED HISTORY". 1) Overall: 16 1/2". per letter "The first sample forging shows how the blade blank looks after forging, before trimming, and before grinding operations that took place at Buck's factory in El Cajon California". 2) Overall: 12 7/8". Per letter " the second forging sample represents the blade blank after the trimming operation was performed. This particular unit was actually signed by Buck's world famous Custom heat treater, Paul Bos. Paul had signed it in black sharpie pen and then engraved over it by hand." 3) Overall: 8 7/8". Marked with sharpie "BUCK KNIFE BLACNK 80?". This example doesn't appear in the letter. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2 copies of Buck Knives letter used above. Green tag that accompanied knife #3. Copied pages from "M9 BAYONET THE AUTHORIZED HISTORY" by Richard Neyman pertaining to these forgings. CONDITION: knives appear in good condition as unfinished.
