2nd model Le Mat revolver showing, .42 caliber 9 shot cylinder revolving on axis around smoothbore 5” barrel of .63 caliber for firing shot. This pistol is in the Confederate serial number range and serial number is 1649. The barrel shows aengraved script address which is crisp and fully legible. The metal surfaces show some light to moderate scattered pitting and erosion with a couple of small areas of slightly heavier pitting on the right side of the barrel. All matchingvisible serial numbers. The left side of the hammer shows the initial N. The loading lever catch and spring are all original as is the movable firing pin. The grips are very good with fairly sharp checkering and just slight edge wear. The action works well and the interior is very good with strong rifling. Refer Flayderman 10 – 013. .
