2nd Model Schofield U.S. Military issue Indian War period revolver in .45 caliber, serial number 7976. The metal surfaces show 10% to 20% old period nickel finish with some cleaning to bright metal and scattered light to moderate erosion andpinprick pitting. The address on the left lug of the barrel is mostly visible and fairly sharp. The grips have been lightly sanded and cleaned but still show a barely visible trace of date and inspection. The U.S. marking on the butt andserial number are good and visible. The action works well and the ejector works properly with a good bore. The back of the cylinder has been trimmed slightly and no serial number or visible markings on the back of the cylinder. The bottomlug of the barrel shows a E. and P. stamp.
