Up for auction is a World War Two Royal Canadian Air Force Medal grouping, consisting of 1939-1945 War Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal (C.V.S.M.) and Memorial Bar by Birks on card. The Silver bar on purple card reads: "AC I K.F. LAWRENCE R.C.A.F. DIED IN HIS COUNTRY'S SERVICE 13 AUG. 1943." The grouping is to R159279 Kenneth Frank Lawrence. Born in Edmonton Alberta, he joined the RCAF and served at #4 Bomibng and Gunnery School at Fingal, Ontario. Due to his height of 6'1 3/4 was considered too tall for Aircrew. Tragically, he died of medical isses August 13th 1943. An interesting Birks Bar and a tragic reminder of the Second World War.
