Colt Single Action Army Revolver Cavalry Series showing U.S. marking and Ainsworth inspections in .45 Colt caliber with a 7 ½” barrel, S/N 3504. Kopec letter states “Date of manufacture is 1874 and likely 4th Cavalry issued at Fort Kerville, Fort McKavett, Fort Clark, Fort Felipe, Fort Concho and also the troops “In the field” during the era of Kawana Parker and Indian Wars”. Kopec also states this revolver was issued early enoughfor use Sept. 26-28th 1874 on the Red River near Palo Duro Canyon, Texas and other subsequent skirmishes throughout Texas. Also that the ejector tube is numbered and matching. Kopec further lists the following;“Subject revolver remains in unfired condition” 1. Hammer A. Hammer modified “Sharp Edges” B.
