Brass frame lever action prototype or incomplete display or patent model that is exhibition quality engraved with silver overlaid plaques resembling ancient coins. Attributed to Fogarty Repeating Rifle Co. ofBoston, Mass. Who were bought out by Winchester and closed out as to not compete with the Henry and ’66 Winchester products. (Refer Flayderman 9B-049). This particular example was in the old time collection ofMark Aziz (Rutgers Book Center) New Jersey. It is considerably more refined then the two other examples which have a military appearance and this example is more similar to a Henry. The stock was made in sectionsand the arm appears to never been completed. Showing action function was its purpose. It fits nicely with Henry’s, Volcanic’s, 1866’s and early brass frame lever action arms. Most original silver turned black remains on theframe. (Antique) Est.: $5,000-$10,000
