2 US MILITARY UNIFORMS.
1) MARINE. A nice example of a WWI period Marine Corps dress uniform consisting of a dark blue tunic & lighter blue trousers. The tunic is piped in red and has 7 flat gilded Marine Corps buttons down the front. The sleeves have large sized Sergeant stripes sewn on. There is a Mexican Service 1911-17 ribbon bar pinned to the left breast. The heavy wool trousers have a red stripe down the outside of each leg. The tunic is dated 1915 and the pants are dated 1917. CONDITION: uniform remains quite solid but there is some apparent moth damage, particularly to the tunic. 2) ARMY. An Army Air Corps Ike jacket for a Sergeant. The left sleeve has an early 9th Air Force patch above seargent stripes and 2 parallel gold bars with a green hash mark on the lower sleeve. The right sleeve has sergeant stripes & a Radio Operator’s patch on the lower sleeve. The open collar has the correct collar discs and 2 enameled 9th Air Force DI’s below. Above the left breast pocket are Aerial Gunner Wings & ribbons for the Air Medal (3 awards), Good Conduct Medal, ETO Medal (3 stars), American Theater Medal, & Victory Medal. Above the right pocket is a Presidential Unit Citation ribbon. The uniform comes with a period shirt & tie. CONDITION: uniform generally shows light wear only.
