This is a 19th century Lakota Sioux Native American Indian beaded sheath with knife. The sheath is made from buffalo parfleche and features a wonderfully beaded design with Light Turquoise Blue, Cheyenne Pink, Opaque Navy Blue and Lavender seed beads. A series of silver jingle cones accents the fantastic beadwork across the front. The knife features a sawtooth blade with a wooden handle. Both the blade and handle are marked "N.P.S." believed to be for the National Park Service. The knife is in good overall condition. It shows minor delamination of the handle. The sheath is in good to very good condition with tight beadwork and no visible damage or bead loss. The sheath measures 3.25" x 9.75".
